Kilmarnock are trying to bring Thomas Agyepong back to Scottish football.
Manager Angelo Alessio has opened talks over a loan for the Manchester City winger who had a similar spell at Hibs under Neil Lennon.
The Ghana international failed to hit the heights because of injury at Easter Road.
At times he showed flashes of his quality in Edinburgh and Alessio, who is preparing for the second leg of their Europa League clash with Connah’s Quay Nomads on Thursday, is hoping he can bring a similar spark to his new-look side.
The player has still to make a first-team appearance at City but has also had loan spells at Twente and Breda.
Kilmarnock have already signed keeper Laurentiu Branescu on loan from Juventus and freed Breda midfielder Mohamed El Makrini.
