Thom Yorke to debut new classical music composition at the Barbican: How to get tickets

Thom Yorke is set to debut a classical music composition in the UK for the first time.

The Radiohead frontman will be a special guest of classical collective Minimalist Dream House at the Barbican on April 9.

He will perform alongside the pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque, Bryce Dessner of The National and French composer David Chalmin.

The first half of the show will see the collective perform works by Caroline Shaw, David Lang, Timo Andres, Dessner and Chalmin, as well as a 2002 piece from Max Richter.

The second half will see Yorke debut a new composition, Don’t Fear The Light, which was written for the Labèque siblings.

Tickets for the event are available from £25 and can be purchased here.

The news comes after Yorke produced his first film soundtrack in 2018, providing the score for the remake of Suspiria starring Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton.

The new classic composition marks the latest solo venture away from Radiohead, following his work with Atoms For Peace, a group formed with Red Hot Chili Peppers bass player Flea, Joey Waronker and Nigel Godrich, as well as solo albums The Eraser and Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes.
