We all know that Yorkshire beaches are beautiful, but among the top six in the world? Who'd have thought it.
Tripadvisor have been putting together a list of Traveller's Choice beaches that are great for kids, and when you have a quick scan and see names like Bondi Beach in Australia and Siesta Beach in Florida, things are about as you'd expect.
Alongside those sandy paradises is Filey Beach - a beautiful beach just a stone's throw from Scarborough, in Yorkshire.
Filey is about an hour and a half drive from Leeds, and is a great spot to explore, particularly in the summer.
Explaining Filey's inclusion, Tripadvisor said: "Filey is a perfect beach for kids to explore. There is a sculpture trail that surrounds the bay, and the ancient remains of a Roman signal station can be found on the cliffs just above.
"Filey is also well-known for its rock pools, which provide hours of fun looking at marine life. Along the promenade, families will find cafes, changing facilities, a children’s playground and even a crazy golf course."
