This year's top Google search terms revealed as coronavirus misses out on top spot

The quickest way to find out about a topic is to Google it, right?

Details on the most popular Google search terms across the country this year have been revealed by e-learning platform Preply.

You may be surprised by the results as coronavirus-related terms did not feature in the top three this year.

Unlike last year, we have become a little less interested in keeping up to date with Covid - or so it seems.

Instead, topping the list was 'Euros' after the spectacular summer of football - reports the Hull Daily Mail.

Second on the list was ‘Premier League’.

The top tier English football league has now overtaken rivals such as Spain's La Liga and Germany's Bundesliga in terms of sponsorship money.

Third on the list was Danish footballer Chrisitan Erkisen, who’s horrifying cardiac arrest whilst playing in the Euros required life saving treatment from paramedics.

The covid vaccine ranked at number four, whilst Prince Philip was number five, whose death on 9th April was mourned around the world.

Matt Hancock was next at number 6, no doubt thanks to the Sun Newspaper who obtained footage of the former health secretary in an encounter with Department and Social Care advisor Gina Coladangelo, which breached lockdown rules and ultimately led to this resignation.

Rounding off the list was US women’s open champ Emma Raducanu, Sarah Everard, who was murdered by Met Police officer Wayne Couzens, England v Denmark which was England’s semi-final fixture, and comedian Sean Lock, who died of lung cancer in August.

The most searched terms of the past 10 years were also revealed:
