This year's Marymass royal party visits Irvine Herald office

This year’s Marymass queen elect Kerris-Lee Galloway and her four Marys – Aimee McNulty, Brooke Chapman, Erin Russell and Molly Scott – dropped into the Irvine Herald office earlier today.

The visit has become something of a tradition and, as in previous years, the girls spent some time with editor Clair Fullarton and met other members of the Herald team.

The girls were given an insight into work at a newspaper office and even managed a sneaky peek at this week’s edition, spotting themselves in some of our extensive Marymass coverage.

Editor Clair Fullarton said it was a privilege to welcome the girls and past captain Andy Tremble to the Herald’s Kilmarnock base.

Clair said: “August is a special time for me as it is was in August 2015 I became editor of the Herald, just weeks before the festival started.

“The visit of the royal party is something we all look forward to now and signals to me that Marymass is now in full swing.

“I wish Kerris-Lee, Aimee, Brooke, Erin and Molly all the best for Marymass Saturday and indeed, for the whole year they have in front of them as Marymass royals.

“And as in previous years I really hope the sun shines for them on Saturday.”
