Breakin’ Convention, London

The Wells’ annual hip-hop festival has become a staple of the dance diary and now, in its 12th year, it celebrates its success with a broad programme of British and international work. What’s most noticeable about the lineup is the expansion of hip-hop into other styles. Among the British contingent, GOP focus on Afro-funk, while Jade and Shango work with old- and new-style lindy hop. The international performers are equally eclectic in their approach, with Antoinette Gomez from France mixing waacking and house dance. One of the most popular acts will be French duo Les Twins, the identical twins from Paris who’ve toured worldwide with Beyoncé and Missy Elliott, and are performing in the UK for the first time.

Rojas And Rodriguez: Titanium, London

Flamenco artists Rojas and Rodríguez both have a traditional training in the dance form, but in this production they also look to the 21st-century language of the street. Bringing together a cast of three flamenco dancers, three hip-hop dancers, and three B-boys, including Chey Jurado, Spain’s national champion, Titanium promises to explore the common ground between these different dance cultures, their elemental showmanship and their percussive virtuosity. That shared language is also reflected in the live band, which combines flamenco with hip-hop beats.

Peacock Theatre, WC2, Tue to 23 May
