Richard Alston Dance Company, London
For 45 years Richard Alston has been working his own pure seam of dance-making, but for his latest work, Nomadic, he heads off on a startling tangent. A collaboration with UK hip-hop choreographer Ajani Johnson-Goffe, it’s a dialogue of contemporary and street dance, experience and youth. Also on the programme is the London premiere of Alston’s setting of Britten’s Rejoice In The Lamb and two works by Martin Lawrance: Burning and Madcap.

Dance ‘Til Dawn, On tour
Strictly Come Dancing regulars Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace have been steadily making their reputation as choreographers and performers – creating productions that are a cross between exhibition dance and musical theatre. Their latest work, directed and co-choreographed by Karen Bruce, is a film noir pastiche, the mystery of a murdered film star in 1940s Hollywood, told partly through a narrator, partly through song and dance. Most of the songs are period classics, including the Mercer-Mancini standard Moon River, and the nightclub setting gives Vincent and Flavia the chance to show off all their best Latin moves, including their signature tango.
