Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, London
Since Bausch’s death in 2009, the German choreographer’s company has been replenishing its repertory with revivals of lesser-known works from her early career. Here, they bring two productions to the UK for the first time. Auf Dem Gebirge Hat Man Ein Geschrei Gehört (On The Mountain A Cry Was Heard, Wed to 18 Apr) was created in 1984 and is set upon an earth-covered stage, while in 1987’s Ahnen (23 to 26 Apr) the dancers’ search for meaning is framed by a stage full of enormous cacti.

Diana Vishneva: On The Edge, London
For the last decade Diana Vishneva has been expanding her career, not only dividing her time between American Ballet Theatre in New York and the Mariinsky Ballet in St Petersburg but also commissioning a personal repertory of new works. On The Edge is a double bill created by American modern dance-maker Carolyn Carlson and contemporary ballet choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot. Both are portraits of Vishneva herself: Carlson’s Woman In A Room exploring the inner woman, and Maillot presenting an ironic take on her ballerina persona in the trio Switch.
