Cubania, London
As Carlos Acosta prepares for his final season as a principal with the Royal Ballet before channelling his talents into more contemporary dance and theatre, this programme of very mixed dance styles is well timed. In Cubanía, Acosta celebrates his Cuban roots, with the second half of the programme taken up by his own creation Tocororo Suite, based on his early life in Havana. Acosta is joined for this work by Veronica Corveas, principal with the Cuban National Ballet, and members of Danza Contemporánea De Cuba, and there will be also be work by the Cuban choreographer George Céspedes.
