New family and kids-oriented streaming titles to check out this week:
"Trash Truck," on Netflix, available now: This new animated series features that object of fascination for any toddler, the garbage truck. Aimed at preschool age kids, this sweet series is gentle and slow-paced.
"I Am Greta," on Hulu, Friday: This documentary about Swedish teen climate activist Greta Thunberg is more appropriate for kids ages 10 and up, as it deals with some serious issues, but the inspiring work by this young woman will be inspirational for kids and teens and can help to foster important discussions about climate change with the younger generation.
"Sesame Street Season 51," on HBO Max, Thursday: HBO Max is the home of all things "Sesame Street," and the new season bows this week, with guest stars Hailee Steinfeld, Issa Rae, Billy Porter and Ilana Glazer.
"Doolittle," on HBO Max, Saturday: The bad news is "Doolittle" is not very good. The good news is it has lots of charming talking animals and a wacky Robert Downey Jr. performance, so it should occupy a couple of hours. Rated PG for some action, rude humor and brief language.
