This Week In Music

Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse made headlines (of the Sun, anyway) after she collapsed and was rushed to hospital. The official line is that the singer is suffering from “severe exhaustion”, but the Sun claimed definitively that her trip to A&E was down to a drugs overdose. Click here for the full story. Keith Richards
Yes, it’s Keith Richards again! This week, the Rolling Stone guitarist made news once again by claiming that yes, he did indeed snort his dad’s ashes. Not with cocaine, as previously reported, but like cocaine. Because otherwise, it’s just plain wrong. Here he is, prior to imbibing his father, in New York in 1980. Photograph: George Rose/Getty
Pete Doherty
And, oh, look! It’s Pete Doherty again! This time being warned by a judge that should he break bail conditions again (this peculiarly enough includes taking illegal drugs) he’ll get…well, probably another slap on the wrists. That’ll teach him. Photograph: Kirsty Wigglesworth /AP
Amy Macdonald
Newcomer Amy MacDonald is at number two in the UK album charts with her debut This Is The Life. The Scottish 19-year-old was moved to take up the guitar by her love of the Libertines, even penning an ode called Mr. Rock and Roll to Mr. Doherty himself. Let’s hope her career fares better than her idol’s. Photograph: Mercury Records/PR
Karen Elson
Karen Elson gave birth to her and husband Jack White’s second child, a baby boy named Henry Lee White. The White Stripes frontman and his supermodel wife, who married in 2005, already have a 15-month-old girl called Scarlett Teresa. Photograph: Stuart Ramson/AP
Lily Allen
The authorities at LAX airport detained popstar Lily Allen for five hours, eventually revoking her American working visa indefinitely over an alleged altercation with a photographer in March. Allen released a statement saying: "I am trying everything I can to sort this situation out. I want my fans to know that I will do everything I can to be back in America in September.” Click here for more. Photograph: Ethan Miller/Getty
Courtney Love
Meanwhile, Allen and Courtney Love got caught up in a short but definitely not sweet MySpace war. In response to Allen’s post, which suggested one night in Love’s company made her understand why Kurt Cobain killed himself, the former Hole singer said: "I wouldn't pick on me if I was Miss Lily, as it wouldn't take TOO much to swat". Timbaland
Timbaland discussed his collaboration with the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna. He revealed her album would be similar to Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveSounds and would feature a track about coffee. Sounds great! Photograph: Frank Micelotta/Getty
Marilyn Manson
It was announced that Marilyn Manson is being sued by his former keyboardist Madonna Wayne Gacy, who claims the goth-rocker used the band’s money to fund certain “lifestyle purchases”, such as a handbag once belonging to Eva Braun and the skeleton of a four-year-old Chinese girl. Manson refuted the claim, saying: “It's a Chinese boy, for the record.” Click here for more . Photograph: Thomas Lohnes/AFP
