This tweet by Oklahoma City’s mayor about Russell Westbrook and Paul George didn’t age well

It’s been an absolutely wild six days for the Oklahoma City Thunder and their fans. First, they shockingly traded Paul George to the Los Angeles Clippers last Friday night.

Then tonight they shipped Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul and some first-round picks.

Yup, that really did happen. Life comes at you fast, right?

It sure did for Oklahoma City’s mayor, David Holt, who tweeted on June 30th about how great it was to have Westbrook and George on the Thunder for what he thought would be a quiet free agency period for the team:

Holt then went on to sing the praises of Westbrook, who spent 11 years with the Thunder:
