'Here, this-tle catch your eye' - a Larkhall pensioner has grown not one, but two, 12ft Scotch thistles in her front garden.
May Mackie, who previously appeared in the Hamilton Advertiser for growing a 6ft thistle, has outdone herself with the monstrous flower.
And it's certainly catching the eye of locals - well not literally as that would hurt!
Ninety-four-year-old May told Lanarkshire Live : "I previously grew thistle's out my back door, but this year I decided to plant a few seeds out the front so I could admire them from my window.
"I couldn't believe when they got to about 6ft there, but they have literally doubled in height now.

"They are certainly a talking point in the town, with people often stopping to admire them or take pictures.
"I often see people pointing at them from the passing buses too."
May is no stranger to gardening and was previously the secretary of Bothwell Flower Club for 14 years.

As a child she used to love attending flower shows with her dad, who was a secretary of the Horticultural Society, learning all about the different varieties of plants and flowers and how to grow successful blooms.
She added: "I've always loved gardening and had quite the green fingers with tall sunflowers over the years blooming out of season in November too.
"But these thistle's, which still have to bloom with around 12 heads of flowers so far coming up, are quite simply marvellous."
