Maltese dogs love to be the centre of attention and lap up affection wherever they go.
They love their home comforts too just as much as walks in the park - but prefer when it’s not raining.
Afterall, this toy breed was a favourite of aristocrats of the Mediterranean back in the 1800s.
These beautiful little white dogs are devoted to their owners and highly intelligent.
My sweet 3-year-old fluffball, Bella, the light of my life, is no different.
She is by my side almost anywhere I go.
So, when I heard about a hotel in Galway that allows dogs stay as guests, I packed our bags and set off on a mini trip to the west of Ireland.
The Twelve Hotel is in Barna Village – a 15 minute drive from buzzing Eyre Square and picturesque Salthill.
The hotel’s spacious, luxury pet suite was pawfect for Bella to run around.
The room features hardwood floors, a master bedroom and an open plan living area.
I was expecting to find at least one stray hair in the suite but the rooms were immaculately clean.
Bella was greeted with a welcome pack which included a treat, a toy and scoopy-doo bags for cleaning up on nature walks.
The hotel also supplies water and food bowls for your pooch.
And to top it all off, Bella was also allowed in the restaurant.
She ordered a bowl of rashers for €7.00 off her very own pet menu.
Also available to order is the Bow Wow Tenderloin and a Bag O’Bones.
Some of the hotel’s rules for pets include a height restriction of 30’’ and only one pet is allowed in the hotel at a time so early booking is advised.
