This rustic farmland wedding venue is being offered to disappointed couples for free - and it's just off the M60

Engaged couples who have had their wedding plans disrupted are being treated to a very generous offer from Manchester's first gin distillery.

The owners of Zymurgorium are offering any soon-to-be-newlyweds who have lost a venue for a wedding in 2020 or 2021  a picturesque, countryside site to use on their special day completely free of charge.

The venue itself - a rustic 200 acre farm in the hidden valley of 'Zymshire' - is the ideal spot for Greater Manchester couples as it sits just off the M60, on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park.

The scenic, secluded site contains wildflower pastures and ancient woodland.

Any couples who are intrigued by the free offer will need vision and imagination - the site is still to be developed so couples would need to bring their own infrastructure.

But it could still be the perfect backdrop to your dream socially-distanced wedding.

Aaron Darke, owner of Zymurgorium, said: “We have been struck by so many people telling us that they can't have the wedding of their dreams anymore because of COVID-19 and the closure of so many venues.

"I have spoken to a few who have lost their deposits and we would love to help anyone in this situation.

"We have loads of space and the farm would make a beautiful backdrop for an outdoor wedding."

As it currently stands, wedding and civil partnership ceremonies and receptions must only take place in covid secure venues or in public outdoor spaces - unless in exceptional circumstances.

Civil partnership ceremonies and wedding receptions are restricted to 15 people and receptions should be sit down meals - to ensure people can keep their distance from each other - and must not take place in private dwellings.

Any couple wanting to take up the offer should get in touch with Aaron on 0161 549 8994.

You will need to show that they have lost a venue and a deposit to qualify for free hire.
