'This one hurts': Harry Kane blames sloppiness as Tottenham suffer shock Wolves defeat

Harry Kane has admitted Saturday's surprise loss to Wolves "hurt" as Tottenham end 2018 with a loss.

The striker, fresh from being honoured with an MBE in the New Years Honours, gave Spurs the lead with a festive cracker from 25 yards, only for the hosts to collapse in the second half.

Three goals in the final 18 minutes saw Wolves run out winners at Wembley as Spurs passed up the chance to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool.

"These are games were are expected to win and should be winning," Kane told beIN Sport. "It's a shame that we couldn't win today.

"They put the pressure on and we didn't keep the ball enough. Whenever we had it we lost possession and that just gave them more emphasises to go forward. We've only got themselves to blame.

"We've got another game in a few day that we will have to dust off and get ready for."

"It's a shame to finish the year how we have because it's been a good year for club and country. This one hurts but we have to go into the new year and try to get back to winnings ways."
