This nostalgic '90s virtual rave is happening in Edinburgh on Saturday to help beat lockdown boredom

With all social events called off due to coronavirus, some organisers are fighting back by turning their events into a "virtual experience".

The ultimate nostalgic '90s rave is one of those helping revellers beat the boredom from the safety of their own home by turning their cancelled event into a virtual party.

Set to take place this weekend at The Royal Highland Centre, organisers were forced to postpone the throwback rave until July.

But this won't stop ten artists from the lineup - including Judge Jules and Bassheads - live streaming their DJ sets on the festival's Facebook page here, from 6pm on Saturday (4 April).

Music-lovers can dance solo or grab the rest of the people in their household (or your pet) and enjoy a night in as you shout out to your favourite DJs via social media throughout the evening.

The virtual rave is just in time, with boredom likely to set in as the country settles in for the second weekend on lockdown - which is expected to last until June.

The actual event will go ahead on 11 July with over ten hours of dance anthems, trance classics, and rave music, featuring five arenas and 70 artists.
