Waste management firm Red Industries has been named in a list of Britain's most inspiring companies.
The Newcastle business has been identified as one of the London Stock Exchange Group's 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2020 in a report which recognises the UK’s fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium sized businesses (SMEs).
To be featured in the report, businesses had to demonstrate strong revenue growth over the last three years and outperform their sector peers.
Red Industries has seen continued growth and expansion over the previous years, both through organic growth and acquisitions of complementary environmental services companies.
The company – which operates several waste processing facilities which service clients across the UK – has increased sales from £10 million to a turnover of over £40 million in less than five years, and currently employs just under 200 people across six sites.
Adam Share, chief executive and founder, said: "I'm delighted to see that Red Industries has featured as one of the 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain. The company has continued to go from strength-to-strength; I'm thankful to all our employees for their continued hard-work in making Red the success it is today.
"Despite a difficult and challenging year, the foundations we have in place have enabled the business to continue to perform well and we expect to emerge strongly post Covid-19."
David Schwimmer, CEO at the London Stock Exchange Group, said: "This report highlights the vital role of SMEs in driving economic growth, leading innovation and providing jobs across the UK. In this challenging year for businesses, it is more important than ever to shine a light on these stories of resilience and entrepreneurship.
"The success of UK SMEs is crucial as we rebuild a post COVID-19 economy, and London Stock Exchange Group is committed to helping growth companies achieve their potential."
