Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has spoken about the club’s transfer plans ahead of .
Nottingham Forest have been regularly linked with a move for Magpies striker Dwight Gayle, as well as a number of other forwards in the build-up to the transfer window.
It’s commonly known that Forest are desperate to bolster their attacking ranks, with Rafa Mir likely to return to Wolves after struggling to make an impact during his loan move.
Strikers Che Adams, Glenn Murray and Lukas Jutkiewicz have also be linked with moves to the City Ground.
Gayle has featured just eight times for the Premier League side so far this season and has yet to find the back of the net.
Prising the striker away from St James’ Park, though, will seemingly not be easy - and not just because of expected competition from other clubs.
Aware of plenty of interest, Newcastle “will only consider an irresistible offer” for Gayle, according to reports from last month.
Speaking about potential incomings and outgoings from Newcastle this month, Bruce admits that transfer business could go down to the final days of the window.
"I don't think that's going to change because of the injuries,” Bruce told Chronicle Live .
He added: "You have to look beyond them.
"We have a couple of plates spinning who would be of interest, but in my experience, the end of the window may be when things happen."
