Original This Morning hosts Richard and Judy are to return to front the popular ITV morning show in October.
Richard Madeley - now a frequent stand-in for Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain - and wife Judy Finnigan will replace This Morning hosts Eammon Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
Richard and Judy hosted This Morning for more than a decade before giving way to regular current hosts Phil and Holly.
They will now return for the first time in years on October 25 hosting a two-hour episode of the show.
The move is a one-off for now but could become a regular one if it goes down well with the audience, reports The Mirror .
The couple said: “This Morning holds a very special place in our hearts, so we couldn’t be more delighted to take the helm once again.”
Judy had vowed in 2011 never to return. She said: “I wouldn’t remotely want to do television again.”
But Judy went back on the show last month with Richard to promote their book club.
They got such a warm response from viewers that they agreed to be guest hosts.
The pair launched This Morning in 1988 and hosted it for 13 years, before quitting amid a “meddling” row with ITV executives in 2001.
Show editor Martin Frizell said: “We can’t wait to have these broadcasting legends back on the sofa.”
