This Morning viewers 'turn off' ITV show as they call for Holly Willoughby to be replaced

This Morning viewers have said they are ready to switch off as Holly Willoughby presented Monday's show with Dermot O'Leary.

The popular ITV programme returned to screens following the weekend and Holly and Dermot were joined by guests Gyles Brandreth and Matthew Wright to discuss the latest headlines.

But as Dermot usually only presents on a Friday with Alison Hammond, fans weren't best pleased to see him on the Monday show alongside Holly.

Many flocked to Twitter to discuss.

One said: "#ThisMorning well been away for two weeks on holiday just switched on to see @AlisonHammond on #thismorning with @radioleary and who do I get @hollywills!! Wt no thanks if it's not Alison and Dermot I'm not watching tarrah." [Sic]

Another wrote: "Just turned #ThisMorning on - pleased to see Dermot on, but Holly? Nah…"

Fans then called for for Dermot to take over as permanent host.

One commented: "Can I just say, love Dermot on This Morning."

While one said: "#thismorning need to make @radioleary a permanent host, his conversation with Giles & Matthew was brilliant. Holly was silenced which is always a good thing."

Schofield, 61, resigned from ITV last month and was dropped by his talent agency YMU after admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague.

O’Leary has been co-hosting This Morning alongside Alison Hammond on Fridays since they took over from Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford in 2021 and after appearing on the show as a guest presenter over the years.

He has also filled in as host with Hammond recently after Schofield stepped down from presenting the ITV talk show with “immediate effect”.
