This Morning viewers threaten to switch off after show opens with toast debate

This Morning viewers threatened to switch off today after the show opened with a "boring" debate about toast.

Fans of the show declared producers must have "run out of content" as hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford talked about how they like their slices cut.

The pair spent the first few minutes of the show debating whether toast should be cut into triangles or in halves - and viewers were outraged.

They flocked to Twitter to slam the segment and many declared they wouldn't be sticking around to watch the rest of the show because the opening was so dull.

One wrote: "I can’t believe they are discussing how to cut your toast in the morning. Surely there is something ore interesting."

Eamonn and Ruth have taken over hosting duties today as weekday regulars Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are taking time off for the Easter holidays.

They aren't the only ones hosting over the next few weeks - Emily Atack named as Holly Willoughby's replacement on This Morning on This Morning during Easter.
