This Morning viewers 'robbed' as they spot sudden change and say 'we've been waiting'

This Morning viewers have shared their confusion after a segment teased at the beginning of the show never appeared on-screen. Alison Hammond returned to the helm of the ITV daytime show on Wednesday (May 24) but had a new co-host.

Craig Doyle was drafted in to host the programme alongside Alison in light of Phillip Schofield's exit. The Irish presenter, who is best known as a presenter for BT Sport where he covers the Rugby Union and MotoGP, is no stranger to hosting the show having joined the growing list of presenters last year.

When kicking off the show, Alison and Craig ran through the 'menu' of what was coming up including the stars of Midsomer Murder Neil Dudgeon and Fiona Dolman who appeared live on the famous sofa, Phil Vickery who was out investigating the recent tomatoes shortage and Dave Fishwick, who had headed to the 'world's best B&B'.

However, there was also mention of an interview regarding a 'romance with a difference', which was said to be airing at 12pm, which would have seen Alison and Craig speak to a man who has had a four-year relationship with an AI sex doll. "I can't wait for that," Alison remarked at the time.

But as the mid-week edition of the show came to a close, This Morning viewers were questioning where the interview had gone as instead, they watched former Top Gear star James May in the kitchen whipping up his 'ultimate vegan burger'.

@Lady_Boss_Lisa tweeted: "@thismorning Why no reference to the sex doll not being on? We’ve all been waiting! #ThisMorning." @Boppity_Boo34 said: "Disappointed in the AI sex doll segment being cancelled #ThisMorning."

@Crazier said; "#thismorning We’ve been robbed! We want the sex doll man!!" @EdgarIrene replied: "Not even a mention it had been axed … curiouser & curiouser!! #ThisMorning." @TellyVsPodcasts added: "Okay so they didn’t even acknowledge that the ‘doll’ segment had been cancelled or ran out of time??? #ThisMorning."
