This Morning viewers were overjoyed after Eamonn Holmes announced that he is going to be a grandparent.
The 61-year-old announced the news on the ITV show on Wednesday.
The Mirror report s he told viewers: "It's not been a good time. I've been in tears again."
Then sharing a picture on screen of son Declan and his daughter-in-law Jenny, he said: "Declan is my eldest boy, he's 32 years of age, and that is Jenny, his beloved wife.
"And they have just announced that I, together with Valerie and Robin, Jenny's mum and dad, and Gabrielle, Declan's mummy, we're all going to grandparents! I'm going to be a granddad!"
Ruth looked overjoyed and said that she "loved it".
Viewers were quick to welcome the news on social media.
One posted on Twitter: "Congratulations Eamonn on being about to become a Grandad, nice to hear some good news for a change."
Another said: "Congrats on news your going to be a grandad. You & Ruthie will make fab grandparents. X."
And a third wrote: "Eamonn I'm so pleased for you, you will be a wonderful Grandad and Ruth will be an amazing Nannie. We have one granddaughter and she is the light of our life xx"
