This Morning were left outraged after someone interrupted the two-minute Armistice Day silence during today's episode.

The popular daytime programme sparked uproar when someone was heard talking over the two minutes silence live on air, BirminghamLive reports.

It took place during a moving segment that showed various cities across the country falling silent to mark the day - which you can watch in the video above .

After one minute of quiet someone began talking, thanking members of the public who were there for joining him.

Following the 120 seconds of silence, the camera panned back to the studio where host Phillip Schofield commenting on the interruption.

"Think somebody's watch was wrong during the two minutes silence there, but these things happen." He said.

Holly Willoughby, 39, looked solemn and respectful as Phil addressed viewers watching from home.

But those watching were far from happy, with many commenting how "disrespectful" it was.

"Ridiculous," one commented on Twitter, while a second raged: "Belfast utterly disrespectful for that."

Others were outraged, saying: "Struggling to see why they’d have someone proudly declaring 'it’s 2 minutes past 11' at 11 o’clock exactly on Armistice Day. Absolutely terrible."

Another branded the man in Belfast a "plank".

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall joined the nation in observing the two-minute silence as they marked the centenary of the burial of the Unknown Warrior.

Wearing face masks, the couple joined a socially-distanced congregation at Westminster Abbey for a service marking 100 years to the day since the body of the unidentified serviceman was laid to rest.

Among the guests were Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace and leading figures from the Armed Forces.
