This Morning viewers have the same worry as activist appears naked on show

This Morning viewers were left slightly perplexed on Thursday as a climate change activist appeared on the show - naked.

Laura Amherst, a protester for Extinction Rebellion, appeared on the ITV show to chat to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

The 31-year-old arrived on the programme without her clothes and just a sign to cover her modesty.

"NO MORE EMPTY TARGETS," the message read.

Laura told Holly and Phil she protests topless "to help save the planet," but said there was "no specific reason" why she felt like she had to do that without her clothes.

When Phillip pressed her on whether she had gone topless to get attention and be on TV, she said: "It's about getting the right attention.

"People get naked for less honourable course," she continued. "I thought, why not use my assets to get awareness?"

"Isn't it depressing?" Phil then asked her.

"You have to take your top off to get awareness," Laura said in response. "That's the patriarchal society."

But This Morning viewers were simply distracted.

"Sorry but…is her hooha just nakedly sat on that couch? Philip doesn’t know where to look," one tweeted.

Another asked: "#ThisMorning is her bare bottom on that sofa."

Viewers had the same worry (ITV)

"Is she fully naked I hope they dettol the sofa afterwards #thismorning," a third echoed.

A fourth added: "Climate change is a major issue and one that needs to be tackled, and people need to make changes and wake up... But... The main issue I am having right now, please tell me she’s sitting on something on that sofa...#ThisMorning."

"Topless? Looks like she ain’t got a stitch on. Hopefully they have a towel on that sofa. #ThisMorning," another noted.
