This Morning viewers furious as guest says she 'wont work with fat people'

A This Morning guest sparked outrage from viewers at home after declaring she 'won't work with fat people'.

Fans of the show hit out at 'cruel' Samantha Yardley after it was claimed the fitness writer wrote in a blog that 'life should be made as difficult as possible for obese people.'

Samantha was quizzed on her unapologetic stance by ITV hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford and when asked what advice she would give to people who are overweight, she replied: "Make a lifestyle change, take responsibility."

Eamonn explained that Samantha has also claimed that XL size clothing shouldn't be readily available in shops, to which he responded: "Life is difficult enough for bigger people without having a choice in clothes - that feels incredibly cruel."

Standing strong on her point of view, Samantha said she was only saying what many other employers thought but were afraid to say, adding: "There is a big financial implication to taking on obese people," before adding: "Eat less, move a bit more and you will literally add years to your life."

She continued: ""People who are obese take off double the amount of days," she replied. "They're more lethargic or lazy," with the use of the word 'lazy' being picked up on by an upset Ruth who said her words would offend a lot of people.

Viewers could not believe what Samantha was saying, with many taking to Twitter to vent their anger at her opinions.

One blasted: "“I won’t work with ( I hate saying this word ) fat people” well I won’t work with ignorant people what a horrible vile person," and, sharing those sentiments, another posted: "the woman who said she won’t work with fat people is disgusting. i hate her. what a b**ch."

The outrage didn't stop there, with a third hitting out at This Morning bosses for having Samantha on, tweeting: "So irresponsible from you, @thismorning to even give this vile woman air time.

"Especially considering what else is going on in the world and the mental health struggles people are facing. I'd rather be fat than have the lack of understanding and empathy that woman has. Horrible."
