This Morning viewers demand to know why Ruth Langsford doesn't come into studio

This Morning viewers are demanding to know why Ruth Langsford doesn't come into the studio to preview Loose Women.

The presenter awkwardly spoke to Phillip Schofield for the first time on TV this week since it was reported that Ruth made an official complaint against him.

Ruth, who hosts This Morning on Fridays with husband Eamonn Holmes, stayed in the Loose Women studio during the crossover and didn't pop in during the next show despite Phillip inviting her along.

But for her preview today, Christine Lampard sat down in the kitchen to chat directly to Phillip and Holly Willoughby on what was coming up on her show.

"Here she is," shouted Phillip as he welcomed his former Dancing on Ice co-host with open arms and even offered her some food.

This Morning viewers took to Twitter to question why Christine came into the studio but Ruth did not.

One suspicious viewer said: "How is that Christine comes to the studio to speak to Phil and Holly about #LooseWomen ,but Ruth never does ?? Hmmmmmmm #ThisMorning"

"Why is Christine the only #LooseWomen to say what's coming up on the show in the #ThisMorning studio?! Second week in a row too. Everyone else does it from there studio," added another.

A third said: "I notice that Ruth goes very quickly during her preview segments now, probably after the time Phil basically cut her off"

"Here we go, a repeat of yesterday’s awkward exchange between Phil and Ruth. They obviously hate each other," said a fourth.

Ruth allegedly lodged an official complaint against Phil back in April after he interrupted her live on air during a crossover in April 2019.

There was an awkward feeling amongst viewers this week when Ruth spoke to Phillip on camera for the first time since the alleged incident.

During the crossover, Ruth said: "Hello, it's just me, it's just me on my own. It's nice to talk to you two."

Phillip replied: "Oh no! You could have come in here."

Ruth said she could have and would do next time as Phil joked: "You know where it is."

Last year, ITV dismissed rumours of a "toxic atmosphere" on This Morning as "malicious gossip".

They insisted there was no issue between Phillip and his co-host Holly and described him as a popular member of the team.

"It's deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip to be the target of this sort of malicious gossip," said a spokeswoman for the broadcaster.

"Phillip is a much respected broadcaster and colleague and this is absolutely not a description of This Morning that we recognise.

"Holly and Phil are great friends both on and off screen and are popular among viewers and colleagues alike."

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm
