This Morning viewers can't agree on Phillip Schofield's unusual sandwich choice

Phillip Schofield prompted a mixed reaction when a This Morning discussion on a new study sparked a conversation around his very unusual choice of sandwich filling.

Holly Willoughby revealed peas don't count as one of your five a day, according to research from Harvard university.

Afua Adom gave her view on the green vegetables, which left Phillip Schofield and Gyles Brandreth horrified.

The award-winning broadcaster said: "I'm going to shock people further in that I don't like peas."

Gyles and Phillip couldn't keep the shock from their faces.

Phillip went on to ask a question that has left This Morning viewers divided.

Phillip said: "So you've never had the joys of a pea sandwich?"

Afua wasn't amused, saying: "Oh, that sounds horrendous."

Holly laughed and said: "She actually looked utterly disgusted at you."

Viewers couldn't quite agree when it came to Phillip's unorthodox choice of snack, with many turning to Twitter to express their feelings.

Liam said: "Pea sandwich? [Vomiting emoji] Are you feeling okay @Schofe?"

Kelly said: "Absolutely LOVE a pea sandwich!"

Sarah said: "I’ve never heard of anyone else having a pea sandwich, I love them! Or straight from the pod like the sweetest sweets you’ve ever had!"
