This Morning viewers angry as guest dismisses most of the UK

This Morning viewers were left unimpressed quite early on during Thursday's show.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were back on the ITV programme for the last time this week before Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary take over on Friday.

The duo were joined by Dr Zahi Wawass, an Egyptian archaeologist, via video link from the Great Sphinx of Giza in Cairo.

It is part of This Morning's travel series after being on safari in Africa and on a gondola ride in Italy.

As Holly and Phil introduce Dr Zahi, he said: "Good morning everyone in London," before then adding: "England."

The chat was plagued by connection issues with many of those watching at home struggling to hear what Dr Zahi had to say.

But they were unimpressed that he dismissed the rest of of the country in his opener.

"'Good morning, everyone in London. In England' I would like to point out that other countries in the UK watch #ThisMorning, too," complained one.

Another said: "'Good morning, everyone in London. In England' Viewers elsewhere, feck off!! # ThisMorning."

"#thismorning 'We look forward to welcoming the English to Egypt' Does that mean the Scottish, Welsh and Irish are banned?" a third complained.
