This Morning unveil their top 12 toys for Christmas including £140 Star Wars droid

When our little ones seem to want every form of entertainment in sight, it's hard to know which toys are set to be next year's newest trends.

So for anyone that's still contemplating what to get their kids, This Morning has shared its thoughts on what it reckons will be the top 12 toys for Christmas 2019.

And it's a mixed bag, featuring sloths, elephants and even a booty-shaking llama as well as plenty of big brand names from the likes of Lego, Mattel and Fisher Price.

The most expensive item on the list is a Star Wars 'Interactive Droid', costing £140, whereas the most affordable option is Pictionary Air - a modern take on a classic game for a much cheaper £15.99.

As for trends, it seems that adorable animals and tech-based toys will interactive features are some of the most popular themes this year, such as Coding Critters (£40), which teaches pre-school children the basics of early STEM concepts - without using any screens.

This Morning’s Consumer Editor, Alice Beer and demo expert Steve Wilson have teamed up to bring viewers the ‘Twelve Toys of Christmas’ for 2019, in a segment that airs today (Thursday 7 November) fat 12:30pm on ITV.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker D-O Interactive Droid, £112

Fisher-Price Linkimals, £25

A baby toy that interacts with your little one too, clapping its hands and bobbing its head along to fun lights, songs and music.

It's super easy to use too, with little ones able to press a button on the Linkimals foot for songs and phrases about the alphabet, numbers, opposites and colours.

Juno My Baby Elephant, £56

Yet another interactive animal, Juno has a playful moving trunk that responds to your touch. She's also a lot more emotionally advances than other toys, as you'll need to coax her out of her shyness when you first meet, but you'll soon be playing games with her and cuddling, with lots of things she can do for you to find out as you get to know her.

Coding Critters, £35.73

Despite being completely screen free, it's a very early introduction to teaching your children to code that will have them heading off to Silicon Valley earning a fortune within no time.

Choose between a cute little dog or cat then press the buttons on their back to make them move in sequence and interact with you and other objects.

Scruff-a-luvs, £14.99

While a messy, tangled ball of matted fur might not look like the prettiest toy in the shop, it turns out that's the whole point.

A great concept of adopting and loving a rescue pet that you can bring to life and cherish is a really good lesson for children, and adds a touch of morality to the excesses of Christmas.

LEGO Hidden Side, £79.99

Any Christmas list is not complete without a bit of LEGO, and after you've finished building this one, you can take it up a notch by interacting with an app, turning traditional gifts into more modern versions with a simple change.

Pictionary Air, £15.99

A fun new way to play the classic game, it's had a modern day update and now includes technology.

For the first time, players can interact with their drawings! Drawing a hat? Pose with it on your head! An umbrella? Shelter underneath it, for your team to try and guess.

The catch is, the person drawing cannot see what it looks like, only their team can see via the app on a device, or the whole room can look when connected to a TV. Then watch your video back for plenty more giggles.
