Holly Willoughby was on hand to emotionally reassure a grieving caller on This Morning.
Viewers were left in tears on Monday while watching the ITV show as a caller confessed she was grieving the loss of both her grandson and her pet dog.
This Morning had opened up its phone lines to those who were grieving the loss of a pet with sychologist and TV personality Emma Kenny joining Holly and co-host Phillip Schofield.
The heartbroken caller – whose name was Ann – spoke about her grief on the show and became quite tearful.
She went on to explain that her beloved grandson then died at the age of 14, heartbreakingly passing away on her late dog's birthday.
Ann said: "On November my grandson took poorly, very ill. He died on my dog's birthday on the 10th of November."
Holly listened sympathetically as she explained: "I am so overwhelmed with grief. I was grieving for my dog, we were never apart. I sit here and cuddle her coat and toys. I can't bear to put anything away...Then my grandson died on her birthday."
Ann added that her daughter had bought her a new puppy but broke down in tears fearing she wouldn't be able to give the puppy the same amount of affection as her late dog.
Holly then softly offered her own reassurance to Ann and said: "You don't have a certain amount of love, that's the thing – love just grows.

"If you're worried you won't love that dog the same, that's just impossible.
"You will be amazed, your heart just grows a bit more."
Phil then let viewers know that Ann would be receiving professional help and guidance from a team of trained professionals after viewers expressed their upset adding: "Ann is talking to our team downstairs."
One viewer tweeted: "The poor lady on this phone this morning. My heart is breaking for her!"
"Tears here. Sorry for your loss #ThisMorning," added another.
A third wrote: "This is so sad. Poor lady."
"I want to give Ann a hug #ThisMorning," added another.
