This Morning studio trashed as Holly and Phil conduct live science experiment - but viewers loved it

It’s been a chaotic day on this morning after Holly and Phil’s live science experiment trashed the This Morning studio.

They were joined by Dr Zoe Laughlin who was demonstrating a series of very visual experiments live on air following a push for ‘real science’ to be taught in schools.

One of the experiments was to show viewers how to create ‘monster slime’ - which was essentially soap suds.

Following the instructions from Dr Zoe, Holly and Phil, dressed in white scientist overalls and safety goggles poured liquid into laboratory conicals.

The pair were horrified when the suds shot to the top of the ceiling and through the safety netting, before falling all over the studio floor.

“Oh my gosh, look at it!” Squealed Holly.

“What the hell just happened?” added Phil.

The co-hosts stared aghast at the mess

Dr Zoe said: “That’s soap suds now, a huge amount of soap suds.

“That was over five metres. You can hear the bubbling noises. It’s now safe - but don’t eat it, but it’s soap suds. Can you feel the heat?”

Despite the carnage the experiment left in its wake, viewers loved watching it, and called for more of the same.

One tweeted: “That was fascinating and yet amazing to watch...Love science just like my daughter @laramairwms who is studying science at the moment...Phil's face was a picture!”

A second posted: “That's the very best item I have seen on this morning for many months awesome will you please do more brilliant.”

A third said: “So much more fun than watching someone selling high-priced cosmetics or slapping on face cream. Please do more science.”

This Morning airs weekdays from 10.30am on ITV.
