This Morning star defends 'loved' Phillip Schofield as 'feud' claims rage on

Alison Hammond has appeared to defend co-star Phillip Schofield as claims about a backstage 'feud' rages on.

This Morning presenter Phillip has been the subject of various claims which suggest there is heightened tension between him and co-host Holly Willoughby as well as fellow daytime host Ruth Langsford.

ITV itself has defended the 57-year-old, hitting out at the "malicious gossip" describing it as "deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip."

And it appears roving entertainment reporter Alison agrees.

The bubbly presenter used Twitter to show her support by replying to an old tweet made by Scofe back in June in which he dismissed "untrue stories from nameless 'sources'."

Responding to the old message, Alison emphasised: "YOU ARE LOVED full stop," alongside the love heart emoji.

Phil's tweet, which attracted 4,000 comments and more than 49,000 likes when it was posted in the summer, read: "The end of another really sad weekend.

"When you try for 35 years to be the easiest, most fun person to work with and you read such hurtful and wildly untrue stories from nameless 'sources'. Obviously I’ll take it on the chin.. I just hope you know me better."

Amanda Holden has also reignited her dispute with her fellow ITV star after lifting the lid on their long-standing spat earlier on in the year.

After being pressed by her fellow hosts on the Heart Radio Breakfast Show, the 48-year-old TV judge said that she had "drawn a line under all those issues with Phillip," before cryptically adding: "Well I'm just gonna say that I really admire anyone that sticks up for themselves because it is not an easy thing to do.

"There is a tin opener and there's a can somewhere and other people have found the tin opener. That's all I'm saying."

This also appears to allude to further claims that Ruth Langsford filed an official complaint about Phil for "cutting her off" live on-air earlier this year.

It was then fuelled further as other rumours alleged that 59-year-old Ruth failed to invite Scofe to her husband Eamonn Holme's 60th birthday party.

It's not been a quiet week for Phil, with feud rumours reoccurring after he and Holly were criticised for the way they handled a recent interview with current Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The daytime duo were blasted for taking a selfie with the current PM and suggested they gave him an "easy ride."
