This Morning star Alison Hammond's 'perfect co-host' identified and it's not Dermot O'Leary

This Morning viewers claim to have worked out who Alison Hammond should host the show with and it's not Dermot O'Leary but Josie Gibson.

Alison and Dermot have been hosting the ITV daytime programme every Friday since the start of January after replacing Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

In a presenter shake up on the show, it was revealed that Eamonn and Ruth would cover for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as they took their holidays but it is Alison and Dermot, rather than the husband and wife duo, who are at the helm for half term.

Their partnership has divided viewers from the get-go, with some viewers huge fans of Alison particularly due to her zest for life and infectious humour, while others have dubbed her unprofessional after a series of gaffes.

Former X Factor host Dermot has come in for his fair share of criticism over his presenting style and some viewers think roving This Morning's roving reporter Josie should be given a chance to host alongside Alison.

Reacting to Tuesday's show, one viewer tweeted: "Can we please give @AlisonHammond & @Josiestweet their own show please! How hilarious would that be?!" and another messaging Alison to say: "You and Josie should do a show together"

A third posted: "Alison and Josie are hilarious, this had me crying with laughter, absolute gold!!!!"

Asked about her and Dermot's partnership in a recent interview, Alison, who first shot to fame on Big Brother nearly 20 years ago, said: "We do have the best time and it is a lot of fun, but it's also hard work as well!

"We had to take time to find our feet, but now that we know more about each other and how we like to work, what topics we are passionate about… that makes it even easier.

"We’ve just had to work all that out live on TV really, but I love it if people are enjoying the show.

"Although my main critic is my son and he texted me recently saying, ‘Mum, I love you and Dermot, today’s show was brilliant’ and when I get a message like that from him, I’m happy."
