This Morning's Rylan Clark delights fans with Ruth Langsford update

Rylan Clark has left fans very excited and 'ready to watch This Morning again,' by finally speaking out about him and Ruth Langsford hosting the show this week.

As joked about by one of this summer's stand-in hosts, Craig Doyle, the ITV programme's studio has been home to a 'speed dating sofa,' over the summer, as a growing number of presenters have been given a shot in the main hosting role, with various different combinations of stars tried out by producers.

Ex Holiday presenter Craig has fronted the show with both Josie Gibson and Rochelle Humes, while Josie has teamed up with Vernon Kay as well, with Rochelle at the helm alongside Andi Peters this past week. The first duo to cover for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as they began their lengthy summer break were This Morning's resident Friday double act, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

And someone who knows a thing or two about being in charge of the daytime show on a Friday is Ruth, who held down the job with husband Eamonn Holmes for a number of years, before being replaced by Alison and Dermot at the start of 2021.

While Eamonn has since quit ITV to move to the breakfast show on GB News, Ruth has continued to be a regular anchor of the channel's lunchtime talk show, Loose Women, and on Monday will join Rylan as the two host together. They were hotly tipped to be amongst the summer presenters and, after Andi and Rochelle let the cat out of the bag at the end of Friday's episode, Rylan officially addressed his This Morning comeback by posting a photo of him and Ruth on Twitter.

Next to it he wrote: "For one week only… tomorrow until Friday… it’s me and the tele mum ⁦⁦ @RuthieeL on ⁦ @thismorning," with the photo quickly receiving plenty of comments. Within minutes, his tweet had been liked over 1,100 times, with one fan telling Rylan: "I can’t wait!! You’ll both be brilliant."

A second follower branded Rylan and Ruth "two iconic legends," with another tweeting: "SO happy, can finally watch #ThisMorning again."
