This Morning's Ruth Langsford hits back at 'annoying' claims she's broken lockdown rules

Ruth Langsford hit back at 'annoying' claims she has broken lockdown rules on This Morning.

Viewers have suggested Ruth has been to see a hairdresser and makeup artist.

Currently, hairdressers and beauty salons are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Potentially, they could reopen on June 15 - but the Government say they are reviewing the evidence.

When Ruth asked husband and co-host Eamonn Holmes if her hair looked okay as they began yesterday's This Morning, it led to a conversation about some of the comments she has been receiving, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Eamonn explained that his wife had received some messages online about her appearance with Ruth.

The 60-year-old, told viewers: "People get in touch through social media and say, 'oh Ruth's broken lockdown, Ruth must have a personal hairdresser, a personal makeup artist'.

"They say you look so beautiful for your age, they say you look so wonderful."

Ruth then added: "Yeah it's really annoying me actually because I really haven't."

And Eamonn continued her defence with a little bit of a light-hearted dig.

He said: "I don't like to boast, I don't like to talk, I don't blow my own horn but it's hours of prep that goes into Ruth."

With him then admitting that he himself had put rollers in Ruth's hair and touched up her roots.

"So they can hopefully stop saying, 'ooh Ruth has obviously gone to the hairdressers' cos I haven't," she said, ending the chat.
