This Morning's Ruth Langsford claps back at cruel troll who branded her 'frumpy'

This Morning host Ruth Langsford has responded to a nasty follower on Instagram who branded her clothes "frumpy".

Ruth, who presents the show alongside her husband Eamonn Holmes, defended the outfits she wears on the show and revealed she chooses them herself.

The 60-year-old had posted a video on Instagram showcasing the clothes in her new QVC collection she had designed.

One of her followers replied: "Shame they put you in frumpy old women's clothes on  This Morning!"

Ruth's fans flocked to reassure her she looked great (ruthlangsford/Instagram)

Ruth's dignified response was: "I chose the outfit myself and was very happy with it... can't please all of the people all of the time."

Her legion of fans were furious at the original comment, with one writing: "Omg you are one of the most elegant, stylish and professional women on TV, I can't believe you're being insulted on here. So, so rude."

"You always look amazing Ruth I love your style !!!!" gushed another.

"That colour jumper really suits you Ruth. Lovely," added a third.

Ruth recently commended Kim Kardashian over her "compassionate" statement regarding husband Kanye West's bipolar disorder.

Rapper Kanye, 43, has left his family and friends worried since his presidential campaign rally on Sunday.

Kanye's rally became incredibly emotional as he began sobbing and ranting about abortion, saying that he "almost killed his daughter".

He has since been on a number of Twitter rants, in which he has claimed he has been trying to divorce his wife, accused her of trying to lock him up and calling his mother-in-law Kris Jenner "Kris Jong-Un".

However, Kim issued a statement on her Instagram Story yesterday, saying that having a loved one who has bipolar is "complicated and painful" to understand.

Reading out Kim's statement today, Ruth hailed it as "very poignant".

She said: "Kim has so far said nothing but last night she did issue a statement. A very poignant statement, I thought, and has made people think a lot more about his mental health."
