This Morning's Rochelle Humes left in hysterics off-camera by Alison Hammond question

This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes got a fit of the giggles off camera after colleague Alison Hammond asked a bizarre question during a live link.

Rochelle, who is standing in for Holly Willoughby all week, joined Phillip Schofield once again on Thursday morning and, right at the start of the show, they crossed to Alison who was on location at the Lickey Hills country park near her home town of Birmingham.

As Rochelle and Phillip listened in back in the studio puzzled Alison put her guest on the spot, saying: "So we're in Covid and it's called the Lickey Hills.

"What actually happens when you go on the hills? Do you have to lick something?

"Why is it called the Lickey Hills?"

Rochelle could be heard in hysterics in the background and, giving a rather dead pan response, Alison's guest replied: "I'd recommend you didn't as it probably doesn't taste very nice!

"I suggest you go over to the cafe, the ice creams are very nice."

After she asked him again how the country park, which gets over a million visitors a year, got its unusual name, the staff member said it dates back to the 13th century and was an enclosed but open space.

Viewers were as amused as Rochelle by Alison, with one tweeting: "Watching @AlisonHammond having a one woman picnic at Lickey Hills on #ThisMorning has cheered me right up! Love her!"

Another reacted: "Oh @AlisonHammond is a gift that most of the @thismorning viewing public does not deserve! love her!" and a third posted: "Awwwww happy climbing @AlisonHammond wish I could meet you for a picnic"

Alison is set to be back in the This Morning studio on Friday to host the show alongside her co-host Dermot O'Leary.
