This Morning's Phillip Schofield shares huge interview blunder with Holly Willoughby that viewers didn't see

Phillip Schofield has let viewers in on a huge interview blunder with Holly Willoughby that viewers didn't see.

The This Morning host couldn't stop laughing in the video he shared to his Instagram story during the show on Thursday.

The unfortunate, but completely hilarious, mishap luckily happened behind-the-scenes so people watching at home didn't have a clue.

But Phil, 58, revealed that he and Holly, 39, had accidentally spent time interviewing the completely wrong man.

Holly can be heard in the background trying to pull back the interview while Phil can't control his giggling.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry, don't worry, I'm all over Loch Ness."

"We'll be with you in a bit Steve," Phil adds.

Explaining what happened, he told his 3.2 million Instagram followers: "We have just spent five minutes talking to a man about scallops because he has such a fascinating life getting scallops from the Isle of Mull and he said, 'well I don't know much about this'.

Phil revealed the blunder on Instagram (Phillip Schofield Instagram)

"Holly and I thought, 'this is a little bit strange that he doesn't know much about scallops'," he says, before Holly adds: "I thought, 'oh we've got a joker here!'"

Phil then goes on to say: "He's actually the wrong interviewee, we’re talking to him about the Loch Ness Monster!"

The pair continued to laugh at the mistake as the video ended.

It's never a dull day on This Morning.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
