This Morning's Phillip stunned as Lorraine jokes she's in a throuple with him and Holly

Phillip Schofield was left stunned as Lorraine Kelly joked he was in a throuple with her and Holly Willoughby.

The This Morning hosts were introducing what was coming up on their ITV mid-morning show today, as Lorraine Kelly was wrapping her programme. As Holly and Phil revealed they'd be chatting with a throuple on their show today, Lorraine left Phillip reeling as she made a joke about the three presenters being in a throuple together.

After the duo revealed their schedule for the segments in their show, both Holly and Phil were left puzzled and pulling faces when Lorraine left viewers in hysterics as she quipped they were all in a relationship together.

"And it's the new relationship buzzword, but would you join a throuple? We meet the three people who say they're very much in love with one another so that's in a bit," Phil said.

Lorraine then chimed in to add: "Well look, there's the three of us already! We are a throuple!"

Phil looked stunned by her comments and pulled a face, before Holly added: "We're a throuple, love it! Come on over Lorraine," as Phil continued to pull faces and said he was "trying to work it all out".

Later on, as they kicked off their show for real, Phil admitted he was still processing what Lorraine had said earlier. He refused to repeat and told viewers if they didn't see it when it aired, then they would have to catch up themselves.

The pair returned to the ITV show this week, having had a break over the festive period.

The duo have been presenting the ITV show together since 2009 but before this week, they had last hosted a live edition of This Morning on December 9th last year before having their festive break. Pre-recorded Christmas specials featuring both Holly and Phil aired over the festive period, but the duo have been away from the studio for the last few weeks.

Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle, Andi Peters, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary are some of the stars who stood in for Holly and Phil.
