This Morning's Phillip and Holly left in hysterics and cut to ad break after seal wees on live TV

This Morning hosts Holly Willougby and Phillip Schofield cut to an ad break in absolute hysterics on Monday's show after being left in a fit of giggles by a seal weeing on live TV.

The presenting partners in crime have become famous for failing to control their laughter on multiple occasions during the live broadcast and, after it hadn't happened in a while, the giggles struck again mid-way through their first episode of the week.

The first thing that set them off, Holly particularly, was an item on a seal rescue including the show's resident vet Dr Scott.

After the bulk of the segment went well, the seal could then be seen flat on its back having a wee, to which Scott exclaimed: "Oh wow he's having a wee on live TV""

Holly replied: "They always do, they always do," as the camera then went closer into the seal, prompting Phillip to remark: "Oh let's zoom in....marvellous!

"Give the animal some dignity...back off! Back off!"

As Dr Scott too struggled to contain his laughter, the camera cut back to the This Morning studio where Holly could be heard crying with laughter as she put her hands to her face, saying: "They always do it don't they?!"

Trying to hold his laugh in and quickly go to an ad break, Phillip told viewers that Queen of Clean Lynsey Crombie was coming up but then burst out laughing as he cut to her standing cleaning her shower with rather deadpan look on her face.

Phillip put his hands over his mouth as he ended up in hysterics, which set Holly off again as she shouted "go away!" and he could just about get his words out to say "after the break."

Viewers were equally amused, with one tweeting: "I'd rather watch the seal wee again than hacks we've seen a million times..." and another reacting: "A Seal taking a slash. Not something you see on live telly every day..."

A third wrote: "The Seal having a wee on live TV has made my morning!" and reacting to the cross over to Lynsey and her shower, a fourth posted: "I can't. Why was the woman cleaning the shower like that after that seal story?
