This Morning's Phillip and Holly give Newcastle caller extra prize money after selfless act

A Newcastle woman was given extra prize money on This Morning after warming hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby's hearts and leaving viewers in tears with her selfless act.

As they do every day, the presenting duo took the helm for a game of Spin to Win which, as any viewers at home will know, can often go very, very wrong.

Thankfully, Geordie caller Soreca, who admitted she'd been trying for ages to get on. gave the right pass phrase to get to play and, after opting for the balls rather than the wheel, had reason to celebrate after bagging herself £2,000 in prize money.

However, it was what happened next that moved both Phillip and Holly and people watching at home when she asked if £500 of the money could be given to Parkinson's UK and another £500 donate to a dementia charity.

After hearing Soreca's request in honour of her parents, Phillip promptly told her that they would be giving her another £1,000 to boost her generous donations.

He then asked her if her mum and dad were alright, to which she replied: "No they're not. But it's just to honour them."

Prior to then ending the call, Holly told Soreca: "I'm so glad we called you today."

Moved by Soreca's actions, one viewer took to Twitter to post: "Sat here in tears at spin to win, awful diseases for anyone to suffer with my mum is 57 in a nursing home suffering with both, thank you for donating to both of these, and much love to the lady"

Another posted: "A lot more emotional than I was expecting from spin to win."

And the show itself paid tribute to Soreca on it's Twitter account, sharing the video and writing: "You never know what will happen during #SpinToWin, and today's winner caught us all off guard by asking to donate her winnings to two charities that are close to her heart"
