This Morning's Phillip and Holly give big assurance on show's future ahead of lockdown

This Morning hosts Philllip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have gave viewers at home a big assurance over the show's future as another lockdown looms.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed in a briefing to the nation on Saturday night that England would be going into lockdown for a second time this year, with tough restrictions coming into force from November 5 and running until December 2, as the Government tries to get a handle on the alarming rate of coronavirus infections.

The new lockdown was the main topic of discussion on Monday's This Morning and also the subject of a phone-in which saw anxious viewers seek advice from Phillip, Holly and the show's resident psychologist Emma Kenny.

And, after the final caller had finished what they were saying, Holly looked straight into the camera and said: "Anyone who's watching this morning and can see that another lockdown is looming ahead of us and you're feeling on your own and lonely, we're here for you."

Turning to Phillip, she continued: "We're going to be here every single day, we're not going anywhere are we?" to which he replied: "We didn't the last time and we won't this time either. We're all here."

Holly added: "We'll all pull together...let's do it."

Reacting to viewers who had a go at Phillip and Holly for laughing on the show at the end of last week, one fan tweeted: "Can't believe people are moaning about Holly & Phillip always having a laugh & a giggle on this morning.

"Must be very sad miserable people to moan about that. We need more laughter at a time like this. Seeing it makes me smile & their laughing makes me laugh."
