This Morning's new line-up announced as Josie Gibson offered permanent hosting job

This Morning have announced a brand new line-up for next week as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield take a break for the Christmas holidays.

Kicking off the show on Monday will be Josie Gibson, who filled in for Holly when she fell ill last month.

Her appearance on the show proved popular with fans, who called for her to return to hosting.

And it looks like viewers might have got their Christmas wish after it was reported that ITV bosses were "in talks" to give Josie a more permanent role.

Josie will be hosting the ITV programme alongside Vernon Kay, who will finally be making his debut after being forced to cancel it back in August.

The 47-year-old was forced to pull out of his week-long stint - which he was due to host alongside Rochelle Humes - after contracting Covid.

Waving goodbye to viewers today, Holly said at the end of the show: "That's it from us but we will be back with you at 10am on Christmas morning and Josie Gibson and Vernon Kay will be here to keep you company on Monday."

Phil continued: "We just wanted to say a big thank you to the wonderful This Morning team - they have been here through the good times, the challenging times and everything in between! We literally couldn't have done it without them."

Holly added: "And thank you so much to you for watching."

It comes after Eamonn Holmes confirmed his exit from the show after 15 years today as he joins GB News.

The 62-year-old veteran journalist's departure was announced by GB News after The Mirror exclusively revealed the star was making the move in November.

Earlier this week, Holly herself recently addressed rumours that she herself could be leaving the show herself.
