This Morning's Josie Gibson says best friend Alison Hammond was the star of Will Smith event

As hilarious as one another, Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond share perhaps one of the most iconic friendships to grace the current daytime television scene. Both former Big Brother contestants, the This Morning presenters are incredibly close, often sharing anecdotes of their friendship with viewers and even spending Christmas together.

This week, Bristol's very own Josie is presenting This Morning alongside Vernon Kay until Thursday, after which Alison and Dermot O'Leary will be stepping in for their Friday slot. Although it is not her day to present, Josie and Vernon went live to Alison at the start of today's show (April 12), as she was living it up at Disneyland Paris.

Alison was at the French amusement park to celebrate its 30th anniversary, and was in a heaving crowd of people as Mickey and Minnie Mouse waved to Disney fans in the background. With the iconic pink and blue castle behind her, Alison said to Vernon and her best friend, Josie: "Guys, I really wish you were here celebrating this 30th anniversary because as you can see they are loving life over here."

As she promised to share more details about the fun-filled celebrations being hosted by Disneyland Paris for its 30th anniversary, Alison said that nobody in France knew who she was. She playfully added: "Can you believe no one’s even interested in me here?

"They’ve all got their back to me, it’s all about [Minnie and Mickey] over there. It’s the one place where nobody actually cares who I am but I’m gonna be coming throughout the show today giving you all the gossip.

"Does anyone want an autograph? Not one person. No one’s bothered."

Once Josie had got her breath back after laughing at her best friend's antics, the bubbly Bristolian star shed some light on what it is like to be friends with the equally bubbly Alison. The 37-year-old told Vernon and the viewers at home: "Thanks Alison. Thank you.

"Do you know what? Whenever I go anywhere with Alison it is like going out with a real A-lister.

"Like if we’re walking down a road, she gets stopped so many times. We went to a Will Smith event once, and she had a bigger reaction [than him] when she walked in the room."

As Alison started laughing with embarrassment, Josie added: "Don’t lie Al! She’s gonna kill me for saying this. Well, it was the same reaction as Will Smith. They went: ‘Alison!!!!’"

Alison interrupted her best friend: "Josie you know that’s not true. The real reason we get such a massive round of applause is because you’re there as well!"

Back in December, Josie and Alison spent Christmas together at Alison's home, with Josie bringing her son, Reggie along. Whilst Alison worked hard in the kitchen to whip up a spectacular Christmas dinner with Reggie on her hip, Josie praised her friend's cooking skills on social media, praising her for making 'the best Christmas dinner ever'.

Yesterday, Josie revealed that she will be spending some time in the kitchen herself, as she has signed herself up for the second series of Cooking With The Stars. She will be mentored and taught by Scottish chef and restaurateur Tony Singh MBE, whilst Emma Willis and Tom Allen present the ITV show.
