This Morning's Josie Gibson's live swim with sharks cut short due to disaster

This Morning star Josie Gibson attempted a live swimming with sharks segment on Tuesday's show from Sea Life in Brighton.

After a dramatic build up all morning where Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford teased Josie saying things like "it was nice knowing you" playing the Jaws theme tune, the swim did not go as planned.

Viewers were in stitches as the segment turned incredibly awkward once Josie finally jumped into the water.

She was swimming around and flapping in the water looking for the sharks - but there were none.

Zero sharks appeared in the segment as they all hid from Josie, leaving the red-faced hosts to cut the video short and move on to a different topic.

Josie squealed with excitement as a turtle swam past her, but there were no sharks and so Ruth announced: "We are going to leave her to go and have a look for mum and dad shark.

"We will leave her there for a minute and will come back to Josie... They are in there somewhere."

The hosts then spoke to the Loose Women, and there was a brief ad break before the show cut back to Josie to see if she was having any more luck.

Josie revealed one shark called Midnight had swam underneath her, but he was not in sight on camera.

"What an incredible experience but to be honest I can't wait to get out of here now," said Josie.

"No more adventures for me."

One viewer tweeted: "Well that was disappointing. Let's put Josie in an empty tank of sharks.

" #ThisMorning watching Josie in that shark tank is reminding me of Bridget Jones," laughed another.

"We didn’t see the shark, typical," moaned another.

"I’m starting to think there isn’t even any sharks in there. Photographic evidence, or it never happened!" commented a fourth.
