This Morning's Josie Gibson has campervan keys stolen by seagull

Josie Gibson has confessed that her campervan keys have been been stolen... by a seagull.

The presenter, 36, was presenting This Morning's competition segment from Westward Ho! in Devon when she revealed all about the crook gull.

As she enjoyed a lick of her ice cream down by the seafront, Ruth told her: "Enjoy that ice cream, I'm very jealous. Look at that view."

Eamonn warned for her to "look out for the seagulls," while Ruth added: "Yes Josie, mind the seagulls as they'll whip that away."

Eamonn and Ruth both laughed, but a worried looking Josie revealed that she recently had an encounter with a seagull stealing her campervan keys.

"No Ruth, they nicked my campervan keys last week," said Josie.

A surprised Ruth asked, "Literally whipped them out of your hand?"

Josie then explained that the keys, "were on the table outside, [and] a seagull come down, literally nicked the campervan keys and I had to go home and get a spare set."

Ruth, Eamonn and Josie struggled to contain their laughter as she shared the story, especially when a seagull started making noises in the background.

Ruth laughed, "Oh Josie! Only you. Careful there's one above you."

Eamonn compared the story to classic film 'The Birds', adding that "It's like a Hitchcock film."

Later in the programme, Josie returned to share more news about the big cash prize competition and to give away 250 ice creams to beach goers on Westward Ho!

It is the programme's biggest competition of the year, with a prize total of £250,000.

It's not the first time that seagulls have made the headlines.

In May, a seagull named by the public as 'Gus' was seen taking sandwiches from a branch of Co-op in Aberdeen.

His sandwich theft was nearly thwarted when he wasn't big enough to trigger the automatic doors.

However, a passer-by triggered the automatic doors and the seagull laid the sandwich on the pavement outside.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
