This Morning's Holly Willoughby sends apology for 'ruined' segment

Holly Willoughby apologised for "ruining" a music segment by speaking through the performance.

Royal harpist Als Huws opened This Morning with a stripped-down rendition of the show's theme tune. The musician has performed for the royal family on numerous occasions and is the official harpist to King Charles.

Following her performance, presenters Holly and Phil gave her a round of applause and asked if she could "come to the studio every day." Holly also gave viewers a quick apology for "ruining" the segment.

She said: "I slightly ruined it, I didn't realise my microphone was up at the beginning of that when I was going 'Oh it's so lovely.' I apologise if I've ruined that for anybody. How lovely."

Viewers were confused at the beginning of today's show as neither presenter acknowledged why Als was a guest as she quickly disappeared without even speaking. One viewer said: "What was that about?" Another added: "What's with the music?"
