This Morning's Holly Willoughby in hysterics at 'demonic' chihuahua that held its owner hostage

Holly Willoughby struggled to keep composure on Thursday's This Morning as she introduced a segment on a 'demonic' chihuahua.

Holly was at the helm of the ITV show for another day alongside co-host Phillip Schofield and things had gone rather smoothly at the start of the show, until it was time to talk to the owner of a dog that had been described as famous horror movie villain Chucky 'in a dog's body.'

Phillip took the lead on the story of two-year-old chihuahua Prancer who was on the look out for his 'forever home', saying: "although Prancer might look quite cute and cuddly, his foster carer Tyfanee wanted to make sure all prospective owners knew the truth.

"In her very honest adoption post as a man hating, animal hating, child hating dog who physically resembles a gremlin."

Already getting the giggles, Holly said: "She went onto compare him to a haunted Victorian child living...," before she put her hand over her mouth and starting laughing.

Trying but failing to keep a straight face, Holly continued: "sorry...living in a small dog and claimed he had held her family hostage..." before she started chuckling again, with Phillip also getting the giggles next to her.

He did slightly better at maintaining composure as he added: "but they say there's someone out there for everyone and surprisingly Prancer has now found his forever home."

'Demonic' chihuahua Prancer appeared on This Morning (ITV)

Appearing live with video call from New Jersey, Tyfanee explained the family who originally had Prancer gave them to her as they were unable to take care of him.

Explaining the 'hostage' situation, Tyfanee said: "not so much myself but for my dad absolutely and for my other animals absolutely.

"You cannot go in another room without him losing his mind."

After Phillip mentioned the Chucky comparisons, Tyfanee added: "He would make a lot of noise. If he was with the other animals or left alone with my dad in the room he'd just go crazy.

"There was no way he'd accept other animals or men."

Prancer's new owner, Ariel, who appeared on screen with Prancer from her home in Connecticut admitted she thought "hey why not?" before describing that Prancer had changed her life by helping her get out of the house.

When asked by Holly if Prancer had changed since she'd had him, Ariel replied: "oh no, he's absolutely demonic when he meets men!" prompting Holly and Phillip to burst out laughing, with her replying: "I'd have been disappointed if he wasn't!"
